The Beninese president received, Thursday, June 20, a delegation of the sages of Tchaourou, the region of origin of the former president Thomas Boni Yayi. A think-tank has been set up to help restore peace. The committee consists of five members: Adam Bagoudou, Kassim Kabassi, Theophile Worou, Taïrou Kabassi and Ichola Bio Sawé. Its main mission: to reconcile the populations of Tchaourou with themselves.

The committee met with former president Thomas Boni Yayi, who has been in solitary confinement for several weeks at his home in Cadjéhoun, Cotonou, the economic capital.

No "personal problem"

During the meeting, the president Patrice Talon, said to have no "personnal issue"with his predecessor become his main opponent, Thomas Boni Yayi. "I do not have a personal problem with Boni Yayi, he's a friend, and what has opposed us is a thing of the past", He said before the king and a delegation of executives and notables of Tchaourou, the home town of the former president who led Benin between 2006 and 2016.
