British Airways (BA) said on Friday (July 26, 2019) it would resume flights to Cairo airport after being suspended for undeclared security concerns and angering Egyptians.

"Following a thorough assessment of the security arrangements, we are pleased to announce the resumption of our service to and from Cairo as of Friday, July 26," a spokeswoman said. No details were given on the company's security review.

The airline suspended flights to Cairo on Saturday for seven days as a "precautionary measure" while reviewing security at Cairo airport.

Earlier this week, a state-owned Egyptian airline executive said British Airways' decision to suspend flights was "without any logical reason." While Egyptian Minister of Aviation Younis El Masri also expressed his "dissatisfaction" with the decision.
