The South African national team lost their 100th African Cup of Nations title in the African Cup of Nations on Saturday (6 July 2019) in the 16th round of the tournament. The Egyptian team qualified for the knockout stage after winning the opening match against Zimbabwe 1-0 and then victory over the Congo 2/0 and the same result won the Pharaohs to Uganda in the first set.

South Africa qualified for the last 16 after finishing third in Group D with three points against Côte d'Ivoire 1-0, a 1-0 victory over Namibia and a 1-0 loss to Morocco.

The two teams met 11 times earlier and the win was an ally of the boys in six of them and the Pharaohs in four games with only one match ended in a draw.

Of these games, there were seven Wadis but the most important official match between the two teams was in the 1998 final and ended in favor of the Pharaohs and ended the other confrontation between the two teams in the Nations Cup for the Pharaohs also.
