Algeria continued their successful African Cup of Nations campaign, which is currently in Egypt, after reaching the semi-finals of the competition, after winning 4/3 penalty shootout on Côte d'Ivoire on Thursday (11 July 2019) in the quarter-finals of the competition on New Suez Stadium.

The Algerian team scored through veteran star Sufian Figouli in the 20th minute, before the team (Desert Warriors) lost the opportunity to strengthen the result, after the loss of Baghdad Bongah penalty in the 48th minute.

Côte d'Ivoire equalized in the 61st minute by starring Jonathan Codjia, but the two teams were unable to change the 1-1 draw in both the original and the extra time to touch the penalty shootout that finally smiled for Algeria.

Algeria, who won the title in 1990, set a semi-final on Sunday at the Cairo Stadium with Nigeria, who beat South Africa 2-1 on Wednesday in the quarterfinals.
