The controversy between Tehran and Washington over whether to jettison a planned Iranian marathon is continuing. While US President Donald Trump said his country "undoubtedly dropped" on Thursday an Iranian aircraft over the Straits of Hormuz, Iranian state television on Friday (July 19, 2019) footage showed that it shows the incorrect assertions of US President Donald Trump That the US Navy destroyed an Iranian aircraft march in the Gulf.

The video, published by the Revolutionary Guards, showed aerial footage of warships. The television said the plane was filming the footage while the timing shows that the plane was still pictured after Washington said it dropped it in the Strait of Hormuz.

But US President Donald Trump said on Friday that his country "undoubtedly dropped" on Thursday an Iranian aircraft over the Straits of Hormuz. "There is no doubt that we dropped it," he said in a statement from the White House. "There is no doubt that it was an Iranian drone," National Security Adviser John Bolton said.

A US official announced shortly before Trump's statement that Washington had "very clear evidence" of the downing of the Iranian aircraft. "We have very clear evidence," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. "If their planes are approaching a lot, they will be dropped," he said.

But Iran denied Friday. "We will soon publish the pictures taken by our (US) aircraft to the USS Boxer," the Revolutionary Guards said in a statement. "The world public opinion will be informed of the lies and falsifications of these allegations," the Tasnim News Agency reported..

The agency quoted the chief spokesman of the Iranian armed forces, Brigadier General Abu al-Fadl Shakarji Naveh, as saying "the false allegations" of the American president. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghji denied on Friday that Iran had recently lost a plane, likely to have destroyed one of its aircraft by mistake.

Meanwhile, a senior administration official said Friday that the United States would destroy any Iranian aircraft circling near its ships in the Strait of Hormuz and that Washington has evidence of an Iranian plane dropped on Thursday.
